Nokia E65 Tips and Tricks Part 3

Not too much in this post but it's something that I searched high and low for when I first got my Nokia E65. The problem was how to locate applications that had been minimised or 'left behind'.

For example the Skype application has a 'minimise' option. This I did and then wondered just how I was going to find it again. The answer is simple but not obvious. Hold the menu button down for a couple of seconds and you get a pop up of all running apps. Then scroll to select and press the middle button to go to that app or 'c' to close the app. The 'menu' button is the bottom left, one in key that looks like the moon orbiting an invisible earth.

Nokia E65

Just got to the end of an 18 month contract with Orange which has been a bit of a challenge. Where I live Orange has one big drawback - coverage.

I can't get coverage in my office, in any of the local supermarkets and not round a number of friends houses. Recently when I was at an ISO 9001 Auditors training course at Middle Aston House I found I could not get a signal there either.

So 18 months is up and I've been looking round for a new mobile. After much deliberation I opted for the Nokia E65. The internet gives lots of bad reviews for this model but if you take the time to actually speak to users it comes across as a very good phone. So phone sorted but what about the network and tariff's? Orange is out but open to everyone else. All the usual suspects offered the E65 but the tariffs were less than impressive. My main requirement is for loads of x-network anytime minutes. Searching further I discovered 3 Mobiles website with some tempting offers. Not a network I would normally consider but their offers seem excellent value. So I took the bait and have now got an E65 with 700 x-network minutes and free access to a variety of other applications such as Skype and MSN.

So am I happy? Yes.

I was tempted by the N95 8Mb but the size and the extra £6 a month put me off. The E65 is a fantastic phone packed full of features. All taking a bit of getting used to as my previous phone was the excellent Sony-Ericsson W810i
