In the bad old days when I had Windows on my laptop there were a couple of applications I used to ack my data up - Mozy and Carbonite.
I've never been able to find a nice gui equivalent in linux. Until now. Having a browse round the web recently I came across a link to a product called Spideroak. Clicking through I came across what I consider to be the Holy Grail for linux on the desktop - a gui application for linux that does your backups for you. And as with Mozy 2Gb of storage free. And the cream of the crop is the availability of a Slackware package!! Most useful as I run Vector Linux.
So a quick
# pkgtoolallowed me to install Spideroak with no issues. Clicking on the menu entry and it was simply a case of selecting which directories and sitting back and letting the application do it's magic!
Perfect!
