Firefox - images showing as black

Image representing Firefox as depicted in Crun...Image via CrunchBase

An issue I've had since Firefox 3 and above is that some, not all, images are rendered as black squares. If I select the image and display as full size then I can see it. Bit of a nuisance really.

However, I have found a solution!

Simply add the follwing to th device section in your xorg.conf file:

"XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true"

I'm running Vector Linux 6 with XFCE, graphics card is an ATI M9600, xorg driver is Radeon, Firefox 3.0.7.

Hope this helps someone else.

I was having the same problem with Firefox 3 running on Slackware 12.1, KDE 3.5, and Voodoo5.
Thanks for the solution !
