Fring to replace Skype and Messenger on Nokia E65

My Nokia E65 came with Skype and Windows Messenger as default and these applications were ‘free’ to use so no data charges. But as I use the internet I was paying for the ‘unlimited’ data package from Three.co.uk so there was no real benefit.

The problem I had was that with both applications running I was draining the battery very quickly. Depending on use I could quite happily shut the phone down within a day!

Now I’ve come across an application called Fring. This application allows you to use one client and to interact with a number of other communication and networking applications. So I can use Skype, Messenger, Google Talk, SIP, ICQ, Yahoo! And AIM all from one client and saving battery life!

I have to say that the Fring client and service seems excellent. Very easy to use and integrates all the services together nicely.
